NEWBORN SESSIONS

Seeing the tiny flicker of a heartbeat your first scan, feeling that first kick, seeing them take their first breadth and holding your newborn baby for the first time, is literally life changing. It’s true that you will never be the same again but the newborn phase slips away so quickly and it’s gone before we know it. We think we have all the time in the world to be able to soak in those newborn details but those tiny crinkly hands, little forehead creases and fuzzy hair are all over in a matter of days. Capturing images of them so little will be more priceless than we realize.

We recommend that the sessions take place between 7-21 days old. Most of our indoor sessions are done at our home studio, where the baby & mother feel relaxed and comfortable. We also do sessions at the comfort of your own homes, for parents who can’t travel to studio. The newborn shoot slots fill out quite early, so we suggest booking the session in the last trimester of pregnancy to ensure we do not miss out on the small window to capture the best newborn shots.

We include a wide range of wraps, props and poses for the session. Before each session, we would be discussing all details for planning out the shoot with the parents and including their preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

The best time is within the first 5–15 days after birth. During this time, babies are still very sleepy and can be easily posed for those adorable curled-up shots. However, if your baby is older, we can still capture beautiful images with a more natural approach.

What happens if my baby is fussy or doesn’t cooperate?

Don’t worry! Fussiness is normal, and I allow plenty of time during the session for feeding, soothing, and breaks. I have lots of experience with newborns and a gentle approach to ensure your little one feels calm and comfortable.

How long does a newborn session take?

Typically, sessions last about 2–3 hours. This includes time for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing your baby. I like to take things at your baby’s pace to keep everything stress-free. I will suggest to keep your day free for the shoot.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

We offer the option of a studio session (Yelahanka, Bangalore) with cozy setups and props, or we can come to your home for the session with setups. Extra travel & conveyance fee applicable for home sessions.

What should my baby wear? Do I need to bring anything?

Most of the photos will focus on your baby’s natural beauty, so I’ll provide wraps, blankets, and props. If you have special sentimental items, or family heirlooms, feel free to bring them along!

Are parents / siblings included in the session?

Yes, parents / siblings are included in the session! Some of our packages include parent pictures as well, allowing you to capture beautiful moments with your newborn as a family. Let's discuss which package best suits your needs and preferences.

What if my baby has scratches, flaky skin, or redness?

This is completely normal for newborns! I can gently edit out minor imperfections while keeping their natural features intact. The goal is to celebrate their authentic beauty while creating timeless images.

How prior should I book the session ?

I recommend booking during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. Once your baby arrives, we can confirm the exact date of the session. We also take last minute bookings but a week’s notice is appreciated.

What happens if my baby arrives early?

No problem! I understand that due dates can vary. I keep my schedule flexible to accommodate early or late arrivals, so just let me know when your baby is born.

Do you include props / backdrops in your sessions?

Absolutely! Our newborn sessions include access to our prop collection. We have a wide variety of high-quality props specifically crafted for newborn photography by artists from around the world. From bonnets, headbands, textured wraps to little beds, baskets, and much more! Don't worry about a thing, everything is included in your session.
